Education Body Site Inspection Reports

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) reviews standards and requirements for nursing and midwifery programmes at Ireland’s education bodies and other organisations involved in educating the nursing and midwifery professions. 

NMBI conducts site inspections of university and college departments, and their partner hospitals and health services to ensure high standards of nursing and midwifery education and practice.  

The focus of the site inspection is:  
Through a partnership approach to - 
(a)  Assess that all statutory and regulatory requirements of NMBI and the European Directives are met. 
(b)  Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the curriculum structures, processes and outcomes.
(c)  Assess the quality and appropriateness of educational experiences.
