Midwifery programmes: NMBI standards and requirements

NMBI is responsible for the standards and requirements for undergraduate midwife registration programmes. These are designed to provide guidance to education bodies (EBs) and practice partners involved in the education of midwives in relation to the development, delivery and evaluation of undergraduate midwife registration programmes.

The academic standard for the programme shall be at bachelor’s degree level, Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
