This document sets out the educational standards and requirements for nurse authority to refer a person for radiological procedures. 

The standards and requirements outlined in this document are designed to guide education bodies and their practice partners to inform the development, delivery and evaluation of nurse educational programmes for nurse authority to refer persons for medical radiological and other imaging procedures.

The academic standard for the education programme is at a minimum Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
