Returning to the Register (Restoration)

If you were previously registered with NMBI you can submit an application to restore your registration to one or all divisions (in which you were previously registered).

Restoration applications can be submitted on MyNMBI if you voluntarily removed your registration or were removed for non-payment of the annual retention fee.

Overview of the restoration process:

To restore your registration please take the following steps:  

  1. Navigate to my.nmbi.ie or open the link to MyNMBI. 
  2. Select the button Sign in. Please do not create a new account as it will not connect to your existing record. You will not be able to restore your registration through a new account. 
  3. If you have not logged into MyNMBI since before 1 Sept 2025, for your initial login, you will need to use the Forgot your password function. You will be required to enter your email address (that you received this notice to) and you will receive an email with a verification code to reset your password. Your new password will be active at subsequent logins. 
  4. On the home page, select the Restoration button ‘I wish to restore my name to one or more divisions on the register’
  5. Select Start application to start the process. 
  6. Your personal details, current address and phone number will be presented as you go through the steps. You must review the details and ensure they are correct. If any of your details have changed, you can update the information. 
  7. Provide information on the Division(s) you wish to be restored to. 
  8. If relevant, provide information on any employment you did since your removal from the register.
  9. If you have worked in another jurisdiction, upload a Certificate of Current Professional Status for each jurisdiction. 
  10. Read the declaration. This is an important part of your registration. You must declare that the information you provided is accurate. 
  11. You will then be brought to a payment screen where you will be required to give contact details. If you are not using your own card, the details you enter here must be those of the cardholder as this is required for bank verification (EU directive requirement). Pay the required fee using your chosen card. Please note that debit/credit card details are not retained by the NMBI.  
  12. You can download your certificate from the My Documents section once your application has been accepted.
