Climate Action Roadmap 2025

The Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 requires all public bodies to perform their functions in a manner consistent with Ireland’s national climate ambition to achieve a climate-resilient, biodiversity-rich, environmentally sustainable economy by 2050.

Under the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate, as outlined in Climate Action Plan 2025 (CAP25), public sector organisations are expected to demonstrate leadership by taking actions in areas such as emissions reduction, energy efficiency, sustainable procurement, and climate reporting.

This Climate Action Roadmap represents NMBI’s formal plan to integrate environmental sustainability into its operations and governance. It has been developed in line with the guidance provided by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and sets out NMBI’s initial actions and commitments to support Ireland’s national climate goals.
