Candidates for Election to the Board of NMBI
The deadline for accepting nominations for election to the Board of NMBI has now passed.
An election for three members of the Board of Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), will be held in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 and the Ministerial Procedures dated 2 August 2012.
The three positions to be filled by election are in the following categories:
- A registered nurse from the practice of intellectual disability nursing engaged in clinical practice.
- A registered midwife from the practice of midwifery.
- A registered nurse from the area of nursing engaged in the care of older persons.
As only one nominee was received in each of following categories, no poll will be held in these categories:
- A registered nurse from the practice of psychiatric nursing.
- A registered nurse or registered midwife from the practice of public health nursing engaged in clinical practice.
Election and e-Voting information will be issued on or before Monday, 21 September 2026 to every nurse and midwife registered with NMBI as of Monday, 24 August 2026 at 1.00pm.
The electronic ballot will open on Monday, 21 September 2026 at 9.00am and will close at noon on Thursday, 1 October 2026.
