Director of Education, Policy and Standards

NMBI is currently recruiting for a Director of Education, Policy and Standards (EPS).

Led by the CEO, NMBI is currently developing a new Statement of Strategy 2026-2028, including enhanced digitisation, delivering on new innovative and efficient ways to enhance services to registrants, the delivery of a fit for purpose service delivery model, leading staff through significant organisational change and the development and implementation of the professional competence scheme(s) for nurses and midwives.

The Director of EPS will strategically lead the EPS Directorate, taking an integrated approach to working practices both internally and externally; developing structures and cultures which contribute to and facilitate the directorate and the NMBI to meet its strategic objectives, particularly in relation to the standards of practice and maintaining competence. 

The Director of EPS will take a strong leadership approach, to ensure that the directorate performs effectively and demonstrates a continuous improvement approach to meeting agreed outcomes and strategic objectives. 

As a key and strategic member of the NMBI’s Senior Management Team (SMT), the role will play a significant part in building a cohesive and inclusive organisational culture with a strong customer focus and ability to demonstrate outcomes and impact. The role will contribute to steering the organisation strategically - developing and supporting the organisation’s values, culture, and strategic direction to achieve the objectives and remit agreed by the Board, the Department of Health and defined by legislation.

Faoi stiúir an POF, tá BACÉ i mbun forbartha ar Ráiteas Straitéise nua 2026-2028 faoi láthair, lena n-áirítear digitiú feabhsaithe, ag seachadadh bealaí nua nuálacha agus éifeachtúla chun seirbhísí a fheabhsú do chláraithe, samhail seachadta seirbhíse atá oiriúnach don fheidhm a sheachadadh, baill foirne a threorú trí athrú suntasach eagraíochtúil agus forbairt agus cur i bhfeidhm na scéime (na scéimeanna) inniúlachta gairmiúla d’altraí agus do chnáimhseacha.

Beidh Stiúrthóir an Oideachais, na Beartais & na gCaighdeán (OBC) i gceannas go straitéiseach ar Stiúrthóireacht an OBC, ag glacadh cur chuige comhtháite i leith cleachtais oibre go hinmheánach agus go seachtrach araon; ag forbairt struchtúr agus cultúir a chuireann leis an stiúrthóireacht agus leis an BACÉ agus a éascaíonn dóibh a gcuspóirí straitéiseacha a bhaint amach, go háirithe maidir le caighdeáin chleachtais agus inniúlacht a choinneáil. 

Glacfaidh an Stiúrthóir OBC le cur chuige láidir ceannaireachta lena chinntiú go n-oibríonn an stiúrthóireacht go héifeachtach agus go gcoinníonn sí fócas ar fheabhsú leanúnach maidir le torthaí comhaontaithe agus cuspóirí straitéiseacha a bhaint amach. 

Mar phríomhchomhalta straitéiseach d’Fhoireann Bainistíochta Sinsearaí (FBC) BACÉ, rannchuideoidh an ról go mór le cultúr eagraíochtúil comhtháite agus cuimsitheach a thógáil, agus béim á leagan ar fhócas láidir do chustaiméirí agus ar an gcumas torthaí agus tionchar a léiriú. Cuideoidh an ról leis an eagraíocht a stiúradh go straitéiseach—a luachanna, a cultúr agus a treoir straitéiseach a fhorbairt agus tacú leo chun na cuspóirí agus an sainchúram atá leagtha síos ag an mBord, ag an Roinn Sláinte agus atá sainithe ag an reachtaíocht a chomhlíonadh.
