Corporate Services Department supports NMBI functions
The Corporate Services Department of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) provides support to the organisation which allow it to perform its functions in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The Corporate Services function is responsible for human resources, finance, information systems, general facilities management functions and strategic management of the organisation. These responsibilities and services are delivered through the following three departments:
- Human Resources Department.
- Finance Department.
- The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department.
Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department has overall responsibility for the recruitment and management of personnel, the development and review of employment policies and procedures, and the training and development of employees.
The Finance Department is primarily responsible for managing the finance function of NMBI. The Finance Department is responsible for the control and supervision of all statutory and financial accounting.
This includes the control of all expenditure of the organisation, general ledger and financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contracting, purchasing, audit responsibilities, budgeting, prompt payment of obligations, internal controls and effective financial planning.
The ICT Department manages and maintains the hardware and software infrastructure of the organisation and is responsible for the day-to-day operational support and maintenance of all computer applications and systems that are used throughout the organisation.
