Policy for the promotion of events, news or other content on NMBI’s website

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is the regulator for nurses and midwives. It is happy to host the promotion of an event / course that may be of interest to nurses and midwives, is appropriate for nurses and midwives, and meets the Board’s standards as a regulator.

Please complete our Website Request Form if you would like us to consider publishing the following content on the website:

• A conference, seminar or other event which is relevant to nurses and midwives.
• A news item that you believe will be of interest.
• A consultation process.
• Other similar content that meets our requirements.

Advertisements and promotional information are reviewed by the Education Department. This policy provides some guidance on what is acceptable, but is not exhaustive. We may request changes or reject an advertisement based upon these guidelines and / or other issues that come to light such as regulatory issues being addressed by the Board.

All advertising / promotional material should be relevant to nurses and midwives and be of a design, subject and nature that is appropriate for publication on the NMBI website.

Guidelines

1. Information pertaining to careers and education are examples of what courses and events will be included on the NMBI website.

2. Products for nurses and midwives e.g. scrubs, consumer advertisement such as insurance, are examples of what will not be included on the NMBI website.

3. The text any promotional material must be professional, tasteful and appropriate for a regulatory website. The language must be clear, truthful and accurate. Language that is vulgar, sexual or demeaning will not be accepted.

4. Titles for nurses. If the event / course is targeted at a specific audience / division of nurses then please outline which division of nursing it is relevant to: General; Children’s; Psychiatric; Intellectual Disability; Midwifery; Public Health; Nurse Prescribers and Advanced Nurse / Midwife Practitioner. If the event / course is directed at all nurses, it should state for nurses and midwives, as NMBI is the regulator of both professions.
