The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) would like to advise all mature applicants applying to undergraduate nursing and midwifery programmes that registration for the assessment tests is now open.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) would like to advise all mature applicants applying to undergraduate nursing and midwifery programmes that registration for the assessment tests is now open.

Applicants aged over 23 years by 1 January 2022 are eligible to apply as a mature student to an undergraduate degree programme in nursing and midwifery. To be considered for the programmes, applicants must successfully complete the assessment tests.

The registration window for the assessment tests is now open and applicants must complete the registration form by 1:00pm on Tuesday, 26 April 2022. NMBI strongly recommends that applicants register as soon as possible.

To register, applicants will be required to provide the following:

  • the same email address used in their CAO application
  • their CAO number
  • a clear photo or scan of their photo identification (Only current passports and current photo-bearing driving licences or learner permits will be accepted).

The assessment tests will be completed online between 1:00pm on Thursday, 5 May and 1:00pm on Thursday, 12 May 2022.

To assist applicants in preparing for the assessment tests, NMBI has developed a familiarisation booklet. We recommend that all applicants read this booklet in full before registering and completing the assessment tests.

Applicants should also refer to the Mature Applicants page of our website, as any updates during the process will be published on this page.

For queries relating to the online assessment tests, please contact NMBI by email at careersinformation@nmbi.ie.
