The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) will go live with its new online registration system, MyNMBI on Monday 28 September 2020. It is important for all those making applications during September to note how they should progress their applications and the dates that dictate the mechanism they should use. For questions during this period please contact registration@nmbi.ie or call 1890 200 116.

  • All applications received before 15 September 2020 will be transferred onto MyNMBI – our new registration system. 
  • Paper based applications received on or after 16 September 2020 will be returned to the applicant. 
  • We cannot accept any applications between 16 and 28 September as data migration to MyNMBI will be in progress. 
  • After 28 September, new applications must be submitted through MyNMBI and existing applicants should also track the progress of their application on MyNMBI.

Key Dates

Friday, 11 September 2020

The My Account facility on www.nmbi.ie will close at 5pm GMT as we begin to move all our services to MyNMBI.

Tuesday, 15 September 2020

Paper based applications will be accepted until 5pm GMT.

Wednesday, 16 September 2020

Paper based applications received after this date will be returned, EXCEPT applications from 2020 first time graduates from approved nursing or midwifery programmes in Ireland.

Friday, 18 September 2020

Graduate applications in the old paper based system will be processed up until 5pm GMT.

Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2020

Data migration from My Account to MyNMBI will be in process this week. While this is happening we cannot accept any applications, record incoming post or update the Register. 

Monday, 28 September 2020

Applications open again and all will be processed through MyNMBI.

Please Note:

Applications in Progress

If your application has already been received by NMBI but the process is not yet complete, your application will be transferred to MyNMBI and the registration team will send you an email with your log in details for MyNMBI. Existing applicants will also be able to view the status of their application on MyNMBI.

New Applications

We cannot accept new applications after 15 September as we transfer the Register and all applications in progress onto MyNMBI. From 28 September all new applications must be submitted through MyNMBI. 

Current Registrants

In October, all registrants will receive a letter with their first time log in details providing access to MyNMBI.

User guides will be available on our website to support first time log in when the system goes live. The system is very easy to use but help if needed will be provided through registration@nmbi.ie or 1890 200 116.
