The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has this week begun the process of issuing email reminder notices to nurses and midwives who wish to renew their registration for 2022.

The annual renewal process began on 25 October. To date more than 13,500 registrants have taken the opportunity to renew their registration online using the MyNMBI portal. NMBI no longer offers renewals/payments by phone. Recent data shows registrants have been able to complete the online process in an average of seven minutes.

Registrants have until 31 January 2022 to renew registration, but you are being encouraged to do so as soon as possible as processing during peak periods in December and January may take longer.

For information on how to renew your registration see our:

Payments online are made using debit/credit cards. If using a card issued to another person (for example a relative) please ensure you have authorisation to do so as the card provider or bank will request authentication to complete the payment.

NMBI’s support service helpline continues to operate on 0818 200 116 (Monday-Friday 9am to 5.30pm). We are also accepting queries to our Registration Department at regservices@nmbi.ie. (Please include name, PIN and date of birth in any email as this will help us deal more quickly with your query).

Further details on this year’s online annual renewal are contained in the email you will receive this week if you haven’t already completed the process.
