The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland’s (NMBI’s) annual registration renewal for 2022 is well underway with more than 32,500 registrants renewing online to date.

The 2022 renewal process began on 25 October 2021, earlier than previous years. NMBI would like to sincerely thank those who have taken the opportunity to renew early this year. We do know from previous experience however, and from our engagement with stakeholders, that we can expect a surge in renewals towards the end of this month, usually on 29, 30 and 31 December.

NMBI would be grateful if registrants continued renewing online at MyNMBI in the days ahead. System improvements introduced by NMBI have helped reduce the time needed to complete the process to around seven minutes.

We have provided a telephone helpline, a video guide, a step-by-step renewal guide and answers to some of your most frequently asked questions on our website

For those seeking assistance during Christmas/New Year, our helpline at 0818 200 116 is available as follows:

Registrants seeking assistance can also email NMBI at regservices@nmbi.ie. They should include their name, PIN and date of birth in any email as this will help us deal more quickly with any queries. The email service will operate during the same hours as the helpline over the holiday period.

Important information on your online payment

You can pay online using your own debit/credit card or if you are using a card issued to another person, please ensure that you have authorisation to do so. Under new EU requirements, the card provider/bank may request authentication to complete the payment. For those who are experiencing difficulties with payment authentication we recommend that you contact your card provider/bank for information.

The Banking and Payments Federation of Ireland have provided guidance including a video explaining the new authentication procedures here.
