If you are over 23 years by the January of the year of application, you are eligible to apply as a mature student to a pre-registration degree programme in nursing and midwifery. This means you are applying on the grounds of mature years and not on examination results. To be considered eligible for application through the CAO, you must successfully complete assessment tests in the current year.
This year, the assessment tests will be delivered remotely online. To assist you in preparing for the assessment tests, NMBI has developed a familiarisation booklet and a step-by-step guide. These aim to introduce you to the assessment testing processes, outline how you can register and undertake the tests and ensure you are comfortable with the testing format.
The testing window opens at 10am on Thursday, 22 April and will remain open until 1pm on Wednesday, 28 April 2021.
NMBI strongly recommends that applicants register and complete all of the tests early in the testing window.
